Favorite Italian hoagie-dip
Hoagie Dip
Ingredients:
- 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup banana peppers, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup pepperoni, (I used Hormel pepperoni minis)
- 1/4 lb sliced Genoa salami
- 1/4 lb sliced ham
- 1/4 lb sliced turkey
- 1/4 lb sliced provolone cheese
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon spicy mustard
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 round loaf of Italian Bread
- 4 hoagie rolls cut into pieces
Directions:
- Dice the meats and cheese. Combine onion, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, meats and cheeses in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, olive oil, mustard, vinegar, basil, oregano and red pepper. Pour over the meat and veggie mixture and combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Carve out the center of the Italian loaf to make a bowl. Cut the scraps into bite-sized pieces, and add the additional hoagie rolls into slices.
